What’s PPE or personal protective equipment?
According to OSHA1, personal protective equipment is equipment worn to minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious workplace injuries and illnesses and it may include items such as gloves, safety glasses and shoes, earplugs or muffs, hard hats, respirators, or coveralls, vests and full body suits.
What is the most important piece of PPE?
The coronavirus pandemic has shown us that one of the most important pieces of personal protective equipment for the average person to wear in public is a good face mask. The CDC2 says that masking is a critical public health tool and it is important to remember that any mask is better than no mask. Requirements and mandates for mask wearing are frequently changing so you should check the CDC website often, especially if there is a rise in cases in your area.
